ScrapbookDeals4U August kit sneaks

Hey there girls I'm back again :) And this time with a fun sneak peek from the Scrapbook Deals 4 U August kit. I got to play with 72 & Sunny from We R Memory Keepers. And this kit will NOT disappoint. Here is my sneak

The full reveal happens the first of August and the first of the month challenges are happening the same time :)
See you on the first!!

Technique & product

Hi ladies, I apologize for being MIA. It's been crazy around here with finishing CHA projects, getting the reveals ready for the August SD4U kit, and projects for a technique class I am teaching at Scrappers Boutique.

I have talk to many of you and I get asked the same questions by most. How do you do that, and how did you put those patterns together? So every month I want to share one technique with you, & a set of products that coordinate. And I would like for you to give these techniques and product mixing a shot. And if you do I would love it if you emailed me ( your work to drool over. I'd love to feature your awesomeness on the blog. If you have any questions, please email me or leave a comment and I will be sure to get back to you.

So here we go...

This is a pattern paper mixture of My Little Shoebox, & Girls Paperie. The colors shared in these two collections are the pink & green, and the hint of brown in the girls paperie line. So that said these two lines marry very well.

the technique her I want you to focus on is the punch work. I used the Martha Steward fan punch and cut it up to place on separate ends of the layout.

So go and start punching!!

BTW, you don't have to use the product I have shown in the photo that is to assist those ladies that want to mix and match and may already have these products, or intend to purchase them. Happy Scrapping!! I can't wait to see your lovely work!!

Shimmerz is like music...

Hi there ladies, I have two fun layouts to share with you today. First, this is my youngest daughter Bailey. I love the way her laughter sounds, and the joy it brings to my heart. She is full of life so I wanted this layout to be the same. What better way to bring a layout alive than with Shimmerz.

here I used Pixie Dust Blingz as a topping on my roses.

The Ranger Ink music note mask coupled with Sunset Strip Vibez created a fun background.

On this layout I splattered the yellow polka dot background with Shimmerz Spritz Licorice
this simple technique has a large impact on the feel of this layout.

As you can see it doesn't matter if you use our Shimmerz on most of your project or in a small way it makes a large impact. Happy Scrapping ladies!!

Shimmerz CHA Summer 2010 Releases

Are you ready? I said, are you ready? Good. Because we have some gorgeous new colors just aching to be seen.
Wait for it, wait for it......
OK NOW! Introducing the Shimmerz Summer Collection:

Aren't they beautiful? Our two new Shimmerz Vibez colors are Fiery Fiesta (shown left) and Pop Art Pink (shown right). Fiery Fiesta is a beautiful light colored orange (I would liken it to orange sherbert but daker) with a light gold shimmer and Pop Art Pink is this great cotton candy pink with a HUGE gold shimmer to it. We have never had a color like Pop Art Pink before!

Our 3 beautiful new Pearlz colors are (from top to bottom) Blue By You, Peas-B-Mine and Luscious Lilac. You will be impressed with their density and coverage. They are more thick, luscious and creamy then ever before. Plus these colors play sooo well together!

These fabulous colors will be available for purchase on our website on Tuesday, July 27th. Be on the look out for a special online CHA promotion next week as well. Plus, if you are attending CHA stop on by our booth. We are partnering up with Glitz Designs in booth #839!

Shimmery Shiny Buttons

I promised a tutorial, and you've got one :)
Enjoy, please leave some love and let me know what you think!!!

I have a simple fun way to make your own buttons using any of your Shimmerz products. I love the bare elements line by Creative Imaginations. These are called pointes. They are adhesive backed and ready to be altered.

For this project I am using Shimmerz Pearlz "Carrot Top", and Blingz "Pixie Dust", a paint brush (small), a 1/8th inch punch, and a fine tip black pen.

You need to decided which color you want your buttons to be. Simply peel the pointe off the back of the clear sheet, use your paint brush and apply a generous amount of paint to the adhesive back.

Allow it to completely dry. It will take about 20 minutes or less.

Now you can do this two ways. If you desire more bling you can add your Blingz to the adhesive side first, then come behind it with the Pearlz once it drys. I did it both ways. Also keep in mind you can adhere a patterned paper behind your button once your Shimmerz drys for an even different look.

this is the button with the Blingz "Pixie Dust" applied first.
And once it dried I applied the Shimmerz Pearlz "Carrot Top" to the back. So basically you can reverse the steps of paint application for different levels of shine.

Next you will take your dry buttons and eye ball where you want your buttons holes

then punch your button holes

and voila you have a gorgeous custom button to match your projects.

And her is my project using these buttons

this is a close up using the Pixie Dust Blingz first, followed by the Carrot Top Pearlz.

I hope you are inspired to go and customize something for your project using your Shimmerz.
Happy Scrapping!!!
